The current India-Australia series has been low on sledging, but there was no dearth of histrionics on the second day of the second Test, thanks to India pacer Ishant Sharma.

During his spell in the first session on Sunday at Bengaluru, the pacer got involved in some banter with a couple of Australian players. Ishant made funny faces at Australia skipper Steve Smith and opener Matt Renshaw, much to the delight of the spectators at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Even India skipper Virat Kohli could be seen chuckling in amusement.

In return, Smith and Renshaw also retaliated by making faces at Ishant.

Australia reached 87 for 2 at lunch on Sunday with David Warner (33) and Smith (8) being scalped by Ravichandran Ashwin (1/22) and Ravindra Jadeja (1/11) respectively. It was an intriguing session where Smith and Renshaw ground it out in the middle with India bowling beautifully. Jadeja finally sent back Smith but the highlight of the day for many was Ishant's attempts to rile up the Australians. It had social media in splits. And the memes started floating around.

Ishant's expressions also inspired multiple memes on social media, particularly on Twitter.

In the first Test at Pune, which the visitors had won inside three days, India’s Ravindra Jadeja had mocked Smith by impersonating him.
