India Open: Saina knocked out, blames wrong line-call

India Open Super Series top seed Saina Nehwal said a wrong line-call in the third game made her lose focus and squander three matchpoints to lose the contest at the Siri Fort Sports Complex here Thursday. The World No.2 lost her women’s singles second round match against Yui Hashimoto of Japan 21-13, 12-21, 20-22 Thursday. PTI[/caption] “I got pretty disturbed by the wrong line-call (leading 20-17) and missed out on the next two points. I just lost my focus and everything happened so quickly after that I just couldn’t concentrate. I went out of rhythm and then could not control the game. That moment came and went so quickly and I could not get hold of the situation,” said a disgruntled Saina after her loss. The Hyderabadi said she will have to be mentally stronger in the future to overcome these hurdles. “I tried my best here. There was no pressure on me. At 20-17, the match was over. But it happens. Sometimes decisions do not go in your favour. I will have to be mentally strong in the future so that this does not occur again. I will come back again next year and give my best,” added Saina. Asked if the line-call review system will help the players, Saina replied in the affirmative. “Yeah, I think this is where the line-call review system will help the players on getting the right decision.” IANS
