Sharath Gayakwad, India’s only swimmer at the Paralympics has missed out on the finals of the 100m Butterfly event after missing out by 0.58 seconds. Gayakwad finished fourth in the 1st heat and 9th overall with a time of 1:07.12. The last qualifier was Spain’s Jaime Bailon who had a time of 1:06.54. He is taking part in three more events— the 100m Breaststroke, 50m Freestyle and 200m Individual Medley. He next competes on September 1st in the 100m Butterfly event (3 PM IST).
