Novak Djokovic is fallible after all, as American powerhouse Sam Querrey proved in stunning fashion to stop the Serb's seemingly unstoppable charge towards a Calendar Grand Slam at a rain-hit Wimbledon on Saturday.
The 28th seed boomed down 31 aces and repelled an attempted Djokovic comeback to win a third-round match that began the previous evening 7-6(6) 6-1 3-6 7-6(5).
The World No 1, bidding for a fourth Wimbledon title and 13th major, suffered his earliest loss at a Slam since the 2009 French Open.
Here's what everyone, including the two players, had to say about the shocking upset.
"Congratulations to Sam. He played a terrific match. He serves very well. I think that part of his game was brutal today. He just overpowered me."
- Two-time defending champion Novak Djokovic on his loss
"It's incredible, especially to do it at Wimbledon, the biggest tournament in the world. I am so ecstatic right now, so happy and that's about it. I think that today I played the break points really well. Every time he had a break point I was able to come up with a big serve. And in the end I just fought the tiebreak and got a couple of loose errors and that was it."
- World No 41 Sam Querry on his win
"Right now everyone expects Novak to win every match. He almost found a way to get back into that one today. What he's done in the last 18 months, I don't think we'll see again for a long time. The level of consistency he's had is amazing, but it's impossible to win every match."
- World number two Andy Murray
"Sam played amazing yesterday and served amazing. Novak didn't play his best tennis. I think when you've won so much, sometimes it's tough to focus, and everyone wants to beat you every day. Sam played the match of his life, and he won. That's what it takes to beat the best player."
- Australia's Bernard Tomic
"What a match by Sam Querrey to break the many Djokovic streaks congrats Sam! Too bad for Novak 28 grand slam quarterfinals in a row Wow."
- Martina Navratilova
"It was obviously a surprise. You know where you stand with that, so you push a little harder."
- Milos Raonic who was seeded to face Djokovic in the quarter-finals.
"You look at Sam's game. Huge serve. Huge game. He can impose his will on anybody. I have seen him beat Novak before. Sam is Sam. He's in the locker room joking, golfing around, putting. Man, you have Djokovic two sets on the ropes. We could be at, you know, LA Open which doesn't even exist anymore."."
- Steve Johnson, Querrey's doubles partner and close friend

Sam Querrey is Wales, Iceland and Leicester City. I await the reversal of the magnetic poles and Earth being ripped from the solar system.
