Kolkata: A 21-year-old Mohun Bagan supporter met with a tragic end while returning from the I-League football derby match in Siliguri where he died of an accident at Baranagar Road Railway Station on Monday. AFP[/caption] Soumya Mukherjee of 41, D D Mondal Ghat Road, Dakshineswar met with an accident while disembarking from the train on his return from Siliguri after watching yesterday’s derby, Mohun Bagan stated in a release. He was rushed to R G Kar Medical College and Hospital at 8:30 am under critical condition and he succumbed to his injuries around 11:15 am. The club management and members deeply mourn his death and extend their heartfelt condolences to the grieving family, Mohun Bagan said. The much hyped I-League football derby between East Bengal and Mohun Bagan at Kanchenjunga Stadium in Siliguri ended in a goalless draw with both teams goalkeepers returning heroes. None of their ace marksmen failed to fire a goal as East Bengal’s TP Rehenesh was adjudged man-of-the-match with his resolute display under the bar in the first-half. Mohun Bagan’s Debjit Majumder stole the show in the last period with an equally dazzling display as in the end the crowd returned dejected without witnessing a goal from high-profile derby.
