Hamilton may have zoomed to the title, but there's a lot to race for as Abu Dhabi gears up for F1 Grand Prix

Abu Dhabi: While temperatures drop in the capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Mediterranean levels, the heat is on the sheikhdom to welcome the creme of the world’s motor race pilots to start at the seventh annual Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Formula One Grand Prix which runs from November 27 to 29. The Abu Dhabi F1 Grand Prix marks the end of the 66th season of the F1 World Championship that is already decided with victory of British driver Lewis Hamilton from the team Mercedes in the 16th race of the season in the United States Grand Prix on October 25, reports Xinhua. On the track, Mercedes drivers Hamilton and Nico Rosberg will be going all out to beat each other at the scene of their epic battle last year, as well a last-ditch scramble among the rest of the top six for the best possible finish. This year’s F1 challenge in the oil-rich desert sheikhdom on Yas Island is expected to fully sell out its 60,000 capacity within days, as Abu Dhabi counts down to the Middle East’s biggest sporting and entertainment weekend. The organisers said earlier in the day the city prepares to welcome not just the F1 season closer, but a whole array of activities and fun. Alongside the headline international artists including Enrique Iglesias, Florence + The Machine and Blur, visitors can also look forward to the Arab world’s leading vocalists and musicians such as DJ Said Mrad, Aryam, Fares Karam and Cheb Khaled in a star studded line-up. Around the Oasis areas, a host of bands, DJs and soloists, as well as street and stunt shows covering everything from parkour and acrobatics to caricature and shows will give local and overseas visitors “a weekend to remember as they soak up the glamour and excitement of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix”.
