Hamilton fastest in opening practice at Chinese GP

Shanghai: McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton set the fastest time in the first practice session for Formula One’s Chinese Grand Prix in misty, foggy conditions on Friday. Hamilton was a full second faster than Nico Rosberg in second and his Mercedes teammate Michael Schumacher in third. Hamilton set pole in the opening two races of the season but will suffere a grid penalty in China for changing his gearbox. A second practice session was scheduled for later Friday, and a third session on Saturday before qualifying. Associated Press
