Gautam Gambhir reportedly walked out of a team selection meeting and even threatened to quit as Delhi skipper after a heated debate on the inclusion of Punit Bisht or Rahul Yadav in the Ranji team for the match against Orissa. A Mail Today report  says that Gambhir was rooting for wicket-keeper Bisht — who hasn’t had a great season — while the selection committee headed by Chetan Chauhan wanted to include Yadav. Gambhir then stormed out of the meeting. [caption id=“attachment_1265883” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] PTI Gautam Gambhir. PTI[/caption] A senior DDCA official was quoted in the report as saying: “We won the last match against Haryana by 105 runs and while I do agree that Bisht hasn’t been at the top of his game this season, he scored a vital 37-ball 33 in the last match which helped us get out of a rut on the opening day. But then, Yadav is from Rohtak Road Gymkhana and you need to appease the voters and that is the reason why he was brought it.”. Describing Gambhir as ‘furious’, he added that the skipper wanted to take up the matter with president Arun Jaitley. There were changes in the side though, with Mohit Sharma coming in for Manoj Chauhan and Ashish Nehra returning for Ishant Sharma who is in South Africa. Delhi Team: Gautam Gambhir (captain), Unmukt Chand, Virender Sehwag, Mithun Manhas, Rajat Bhatia, Vaibhav Rawal, Ashish Nehra, Parvinder Awana, Sumit Narwal, Varun Sood, Rahul Yadav (wicket-keeper), Manan Sharma, Milind Kumar, Mohit Sharma and Pawan Suyal.
