Melbourne: Statistical highlights of the second Twenty20 international between India and Australia in Melbourne on Friday. - Virat Kohli has become the first player to reach an average of fifty-plus in T20Is - his impressive aggregate being 1165 (ave.50.65), including 11 fifties in 32 matches. - Kohli’s average of 67.08 in a winning cause is without a parallel in T20Is - his aggregate being 805 (ave.67.08), including eight fifties, in 20 matches. He is the only one to have averaged fifty-plus in a winning cause (min. 500 runs). - Kohli has achieved another first in T20Is - 1000 runs as number three player. He took his aggregate to 1008 at an average of 53.05 in 25 innings, including 10 fifties apart from becoming the first batsman to record 10 innings of fifty-plus at this batting position. - Kohli has got his fifth Man of the Match award in T20Is - his first occasion of getting two consecutive awards - Adelaide (January 26) & Melbourne (January 29) - both against Australia. - Shikhar Dhawan (42 off 32 balls) has recorded his highest score in T20Is, bettering the 33 off 28 balls vs England at Birmingham on 7 September  2014. Getty Images[/caption] - Mahendra Singh Dhoni has become the first Indian captain and the seventh in all to win at least two International bilateral series in Australia. India had won the Commonwealth Bank series (ODIs) in March 2008 under his leadership. - Jasprit Bumrah (2/37) has claimed two wickets in each of his first two matches in T20Is. On his T20I debut, his bowling figures were 2 for 23 at Adelaide on January 26, 2016. - Ashish Nehra could not bag a single wicket for the second time in T20Is - the first occasion being vs Sri Lanka at Mohali on 12 December 2009. - India have won the bilateral series in a style - their third triumph over Australia in T20Is - the first two series wins being by 1-0 in 2007-08 and by 1-0 in 2013-14. - India have won seven and lost four out of eleven matches played against Australia in T20Is - success % 63.63. - India (184/3) have recorded the highest total by any team in T20Is at MCG, obliterating the 182 for nine by Australia vs South Africa on 11 January, 2009. - Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma were associated in a stand of 97 for the first wicket - the highest partnership for any wicket in T20Is at MCG, bettering the 86 for the third wicket between George Bailey and Shaun Marsh vs Sri Lanka on 28 January 2013. - Aaron Finch and Shaun Marsh were involved in a stand of 94 for the first wicket, which is now the second highest stand for any wicket MCG. - The 97-run match-winning stand is India’s first 50-plus opening partnership vs Australia in T20Is - The above partnership is the third highest by any opening pair vs Australia : the highest two being 133 between Chris Gayle and Andre Fletcher for West Indies at The Oval on 6 June 2009 and 111 between Alex Hales and Michael Lumb for England at Chester-le-Street on 31 August 2013. - The 97-run partnership is India’s second highest for the first wicket in T20Is behind the 136 between Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir vs England at Durban on 19 September 2007. - Rohit’s first fifty (60 off 47 balls) in Australia in T20Is is his second highest against them next only to the 79 not out off 46 balls at Bridgetown on May 7, 2010. He has recorded a hundred and eight fifties in T20Is. - Kohli has managed 149 without being dismissed in two matches - 90 not out at Adelaide and 59 not out at Melbourne. The said aggregate is the best by an Indian batsman in a bilateral series. - Kohli, with 269 runs at an average of 53.80 in seven matches, is the leading run-getter in India-Australia T20Is, eclipsing the 247 (ave.61.75) in eight matches by Yuvraj Singh. Aaron Finch, with 249 runs at an average of 49.80 in five matches, is now the leading run-scorer for Australia vs India in T20Is. PTI
