Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has confirmed that all the players currently out on loan, including Marcus Rashford, will return to the club this summer. Amorim has said that their futures with the club will be decided after the season ends.

Amorim, who joined United in November, had sent Rashford away on loan because he was unhappy with the forward’s attitude and effort. Aston Villa picked him up during the January transfer window on a loan deal until the end of the season. He has done well for Villa and there is an option for the club to buy him.

Amorim says there is still hope for Rashford at United

Amorim said on Friday that Rashford, along with other loaned players like Antony, will come back to Old Trafford first before anything is finalised regarding their future with the club.

“All the players that are on loan, they will return and then the club will decide what to do at the end of the season. The talent of Rashford, even Antony [at Real Betis], they have talent. They have to put that on the team. We are really happy because if you put one player on loan, the best thing for us is for them to perform and they are performing,” Amorim said.

He added that Rashford and Antony both have talent but need to show they can use that talent properly in the team. Amorim gave the example of Casemiro to suggest that there is still hope for Rashford at United. Casemiro was also not playing much when Amorim first took over but he improved and is now a regular in the starting lineup.

“We are really happy because if you put one player on loan, the best thing for us is for them to perform, and they are performing. I have an idea that is clear because we have to do things early [in the transfer window], but things can change before the end of the season,” Amorim said.

“Casemiro was a player who wasn’t playing, and then, you see, the last games, he’s having a part and is performing quite well and playing all the time. I like to change my mind, and if they change my mind, I’m really happy with that. I just want to win and put the best players in my team,” he added.

In 17 appearances across all competitions, Rashford has contributed four goals and six assists, playing a pivotal role in Villa’s campaigns in the Premier League, FA Cup, and UEFA Champions League. Villa advanced to the quarter-finals of UCL, where they faced Paris Saint-Germain. They won the home leg 3-2 but were eliminated on aggregate due to a 3-1 loss in the away leg.
