Carlo Ancelotti’s exit from Real Madrid and joining the Brazil national team as its next coach has hit a stumbling block as the Los Blancos are unhappy with how quickly things have moved. On Monday, it was reported that the Brazilian federation (CBF) was confident Ancelotti would join the team in time for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in June.
However, Madrid are not happy, as per ESPN Brasil, with the possibility of an early exit for Ancelotti and do not want to pay the remainder of his contract.
Real Madrid block Carlo Ancelotti’s move to Brazil
If Ancelotti leaves Real Madrid in June for Brazil’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, then the Spanish club would be forced to look for a temporary solution or a new coach for the FIFA Club World Cup, which will be played from 14 June to 13 July in the USA.
Ancelotti leaving Real Madrid at the end of the season is almost a given but Real are not happy with losing him in June, say the reports.
Ancelotti has had a lot of success at Real Madrid, winning three Champions Leagues and two La Liga titles with the club in two different tenures. However, they were knocked out of the Champions League this season after losing to Arsenal 5-1 in the quarter-finals.
Real Madrid are four points behind Barcelona in the La Liga title race with just five matches to go.
Brazil, meanwhile, are fourth in the World Cup qualifying table and take on Ecuador on 4 June and Paraguay on 9 June.
The five-time World Cup champions, Brazil, have been without a coach ever since firing Dorival Junior after a defeat to Argentina in March.
As per ESPN, Brazilian authorities are already in Madrid to seal the deal and negotiations are currently underway with the club.
If Brazil fail to recruit Ancelotti, then they may go back to Al Hilal coach Jorge Jesus.
