The uncertainty surrounding Marcus Rashford’s future at Manchester United might be resolved in the next couple of days with Aston Villa reportedly looking to secure the forward on a loan deal with the ‘Red Devils’. Rashford, a produced of the United Academy, has found himself largely sidelined during Ruben Amorim’s tenure as manager with the 27-year-old having not started for the 20-time top-flight champions for more than a month now.
According to BBC, talks between United and Villa are at an advanced stage but there is work still to be done to finalise the loan deal. The report adds that the prospect of working with Villa manager Unai Emery appears to be an attractive one for Rashford, who had been watching his teammates in action from the sidelines since being dropped for the Manchester derby on 15 December .

The 27-year-old, whose representatives have also held discussions with Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United during the winter transfer window, had earlier stated his desire for a “new challenge”. After playing for their youth teams, Rashford made his senior debut for United in the 2015-16 season and has been at Old Trafford ever since, playing under various managers including Louis van Gaal, Jose Mourinho and ex-United forward Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
With Villa having already qualified for the Round of 16 in the UEFA Champions League ahead of defending champions Real Madrid and English champions Manchester City, Rashford can look forward to being part of Europe’s top football competition once again.
