Rs 700 crore target linked with United move

According to reports, the Red Devils are planning a £60 million (Rs 700 crore approx) bid for Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton. The 21-year-old has been a standout performer for Palace since his £18m move from Blackburn in 2024, helping the club win the FA Cup and qualify for European competition.

United head coach Ruben Amorim is said to be a big admirer of Wharton, believing the midfielder has the ability to fit in at Old Trafford. United are seeing Wharton as a player who could step into the first-team midfield, with Kobbie Mainoo and Casemiro likely to depart next season.

Wharton has also been linked with teams like Liverpool, Chelsea, and Real Madrid. However, there are reports suggesting that the player is happy at Palace, and the club is also not interested in selling him in January. Wharton, who has played for England in one match, wants to focus on his performance at Palace for now.

Meanwhile, some reports claim that Palace could consider selling Wharton if the offer meets their valuation. United are confident that their interest could be enough to bring the young English talent to Old Trafford.

Amorim has struggled to deliver at United, falling short of the high expectations set when he joined last season. The club is currently ranked 10th in the Premier League table with three wins and one draw in seven matches so far.
