Manchester United football club manager Ruben Amorim was happy with how his team rallied to beat Wolves 4-1 in the English Premier League on Monday, but feels that it’s time to move on to the next game and forget the result. Skipper Bruno Fernandes opened the scoring for Man United in the first half, but Jean-Ricner Bellegarde pulled one back for Wolves just before the half-time break.

However, goals from Bryan Mbeumo, Mason Mount and a penalty by Fernandes sealed the deal for Man United as they jumped to sixth position in the table with 25 points from 15 matches.

With nine shots on target and 25 overall, United could have scored more goals against Wolves, who are at the bottom with just two points. Amorim was happy with the win but felt his team was not clinical as he urged his players to maintain the momentum.

“We scored four but we had a lot of shots so I cannot make the connection with more clinical. We improved a lot if you compare last season and this season. We are created so many more chances, scored more goals, and created more spots of danger,” Amorim said after the match.

“Every week that we win a game I get this question — we know we need to win the next one. This one is in the past so let’s go.”

Amorim, however, praised his team for not crumbling under the pressure after Wolves scored an equaliser.

“We started the game really well. We scored a goal and let Wolves come back to the game a little bit. In the second half, with good pace and with good quality and decisions we finished the game. Wolves are in a difficult moment, so I think it was a good win.”

On Mason Mount and Mbeumo, who constantly shifted roles between false 9 and right wing and scored a goal each, Amorim praised the fluidity the footballers provided.

“They have the quality to do that. They change positions, especially if you play a guy like Matheus Cunha. He moves more than a typical No. 9 so we took advantage of that.”
