Manchester City’s fresh summer signing, Rayan Ait-Nouri, is excited to join the Premier League giants and is looking forward to making the most of the avenues the club offers. The left-back has expressed his intentions to flourish under Pep Guardiola and play an instrumental role in the club’s potential success.
City profusely leaked goals in the 2024-25 season and, as a consequence, lost a total of 9 games in the league. Addressing the frailties in defence, the club’s management addressed the pain point and splurged £31 million to bring Rayan Ait-Nouri from Wolves.
Rayan Ait-Nouri expresses delight upon joining Man City
Speaking to JioHotstar, Rayan Ait-Nouri expressed his pride and happiness after signing for Manchester City:
“To be honest, I’m very happy and proud. Playing for a club like Manchester City was one of my goals. I’m eager to wear this shirt and give my best. My family is also very happy — today is definitely a very special day.”
As City came calling, Ait-Nouri was bound to say yes and he had admitted that it was an easy decision.
“It was definitely an easy decision. We all know the team—last year they proved to be the best in the world. The players are amazing, and the coach as well. It’s a pleasure to train under Pep Guardiola. I’m here to learn and to show what I can do. I will give my best.”
Ait-Nouri will offer a variety of skills to Man City and backs his technicality and willingness to make desperate strides to come good in the league. Moreover, the 24-year-old can prove to be a major ace in attack as well. He has proven his mettle as an attacker and will be seen throwing accurate crosses to Erling Haaland week in and week out.
“First, I’m a technical player. But I also like to run for my teammates and the team. Every day, in training and in games, I try to give everything because working for the team is very important to me. With the ball, I enjoy attacking, crossing, and shooting. I like to defend as well. If I were to describe my football, I would say I’m a technical player.”
Rayan will bring tons of experience along that he gathered over the four years with Wolverhampton.
“My experience in the Premier League will make it easier to settle. It’s the same league, the same country, and I’ve been here in England for a long time. I know the league well. But of course, it’s still a new challenge with amazing players and a top coach. I can’t wait to train with the team and embrace this next step.”
The prospect of working with Pep Guardiola, whom he considers the “best coach” in the world, came out as quite attractive to him and he is ready to give his all for the shirt.
“I’m very excited to work with him. For me, he’s the best coach in the world. What he has achieved with this team is incredible. I want to learn from him and work hard alongside my teammates. Most importantly, I will give everything for this shirt.”
