Lionel Messi GOAT India Tour Delhi LIVE: Lionel Messi and Inter Miami teammates Luis Suarez and Rodrigo de Paul are set to enthrall football fans in New Delhi on Monday, marking on the third and final day of his ‘GOAT India Tour’. The Argentine football superstar’s first visit to India in 14 years began with a visit to Kolkata and Hyderabad on Saturday, followed by Mumbai on Sunday.
Messi, Suarez and de Paul had visited some of the most iconic sporting venues in the country over the weekend – from Kolkata’s Salt Lake Stadium and Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium to Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium and Cricket Club of India.
On Monday, the Barcelona icon will be visiting the Arun Jaitley Stadium in the national capital, where he will be meeting Indian cricket superstar Virat Kohli and will be conducting another football clinic for children, besides participating in a celebrity football match. Messi is also likely to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday.
How Lionel Messi’s ‘GOAT India Tour’ has panned out so far
Messi had earlier arrived in Kolkata in the wee hours on Saturday, and his tour began with a private meet-and-greet session that was followed by the 38-year-old virtually inaugurating a 70-foot statue of himself. His visit to the 85,000-capacity Salt Lake Stadium, however, had turned chaotic later in the day as irate fans resorted to vandalising the venue for barely catching a glimpse of the iconic footballer they had paid a fortune for.
Messi, after all, found himself mobbed by politicians and other VIPs in the ground, and had to leave the ground just 20 minutes after his arrival.

The Hyderabad and Mumbai legs of the tour, however, went ahead without a hitch. Messi played football with Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy in Hyderabad, where he also met India’s Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi.
And in Mumbai, Messi met Indian sporting legends Sachin Tendulkar and Sunil Chhetri, the former gifting him his 2011 ICC World Cup jersey that he had personally signed. Also present at the event were Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and his wife Amruta as well as Bollywood stars such as Ajay Devgn and Tiger Shroff.
