Amid the controversy of him taking help from an astrologer to pick the team for Asia Cup qualifiers, the Indian football team’s head coach Igor Stimac has hinted that he will be making some big revelations while also adding that he remains committed to making India a football nation. “Target or honest fighter for the betterment of Indian football? The time is coming to put all cards on the table and see how much and who really cares about football in this country,” Stimac wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “Give it a thought before making up your judgment and thanks once again for your support.” In a separate post, he said: “My dream of making India a football nation is still alive”

It was reported last year that the All India Football Federation (AIFF) hired and astrologer to “motivate” the team ahead of the Asian Cup qualifiers. The astrological firm was paid close to Rs 16 lakh for its services. Now a new report has revealed that coach Stimac was directly in touch with the astrologer and took advice from him over his starting XI for the matches.
