Despite the ongoing tussle between striker Alexander Isak and Newcastle, manager Eddie Howe has revealed that he still wants the Swedish footballer to be a part of the English Premier League team, as Liverpool plans a mega second offer. Isak has been hell bent on leaving Newcastle. He has been training alone in the hope of forcing a move away from Newcastle, who have already rejected a £110 million offer from defending champions Liverpool.

The spat between Isak and Newcastle took an ugly turn recently when the striker did not go to the PFA awards ceremony and later released a statement, accusing Newcastle of breaking promises made to him. The club hit back at him with their own version, claiming that Isak is welcome to return to the team and while they are ready to listen to his views, they have to treat the club’s interests as top priority.

Newcastle reportedly want £150 million for the striker, but they don’t think such an offer would come from Liverpool. “We do not foresee those conditions being met," Newcastle said in their statement while talking about the “conditions of a sale” this summer.

Liverpool ready to make second Isak offer

But there are reasons for Isak to feel good, as a report from journalist Dean Jones for TEAMtalk has stated that Liverpool are ready “to pull the trigger on a new Isak offer.”

The reports claimed that Liverpool could make an offer in the region of £120m-£130m, which will still be lower than Newcastle’s valuation.

Meanwhile, Howe has defended Newcastle’s statement, while also adding that he wants Isak to play for the club, once again.

“He’s contracted to us. He’s our player. My wish is that he would be playing on Monday. He won’t be, and that’s regrettable. But 100 per cent I want him back in a Newcastle shirt.”

“It was a sad moment,” Howe said on Isak’s statement. “My preference is these things do not happen publicly. They are better dealt with behind closed doors. But needs must: the club has spoken, and justifiably so in that moment … The club has to act in the best interests of Newcastle United. It will do that in every situation."
