Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has created a new world record by launching his own YouTube channel. The YouTube channel is named “UR · Cristiano” and was launched on 21 August. It attracted more than a million subscribers in just the first 90 minutes - this is a record for the fastest a new YouTube channel has reached a million subscribers.
“The wait is over. My @YouTube channel is finally here! SIUUUbscribe and join me on this new journey,” Ronaldo wrote on X on Wednesday.
Currently, his channel already has 13.8 million subscribers in less than 24 hours after being launched.
The record rise in subscriber numbers highlights Ronaldo’s popularity among youngsters and social media users.
“I have always enjoyed having such a strong relationship with fans on social media and my YouTube channel will give me an even bigger platform to do so and they will learn more about me, my family, and my views on many different subjects,” Ronaldo said in the YouTube channel’s launch announcement.
Ronaldo is also hugely popular on other social platforms with 112.5 million followers on the X (formerly Twitter), 170 million on Facebook, and 636 million on Instagram.
