A total of 36 teams will compete in the 2024-25 season of the UEFA Champions League season. The teams were divided into four pots of nine teams each. Each team were draw against eight different teams (Two teams from each pot) and will play four home games and as many away matches. The teams that finish in the top eight of the 36-team league stage automatically qualify for the round of 16.

The teams that end up between ninth and 24th in the league stage will lock horns in a two-legged playoff tie to determine who goes through to the last 16. The teams who finish between ninth and 16th will be seeded, meaning they will play the second leg at home. While there is country protection for the league stage, there won’t be any country protection from the round of 16. The tournament will follow the traditional format from last 16 stage onwards.

The teams who finish 25th and below are eliminated from European competitions for this season.
