Bengaluru FC vs Mohun Bagan Super Giant preview: Bengaluru FC will be eyeing a third consecutive victory at home when they take on defending Shield champions Mohun Bagan Super Giant at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday.
BFC, who had won the 2018-19 edition of the league besides finishing runners-up twice, began their campaign with a slender 1-0 victory over East Bengal FC.
The Blues, however, produced a more dominant display against Hyderabad FC in their next outing, thrashing ‘The Nizams’ 3-0 with veteran forward Sunil Chhetri, who had retired from international football in June, scoring a brace.
Mohun Bagan, meanwhile, began their campaign with a thrilling 2-2 draw against defending Cup champions Mumbai City FC in the tournament opener on 13 September. Their subsequent fixture, against NorthEast United, was also a high-scoring game, only this time they would collect all three points instead of just one with a 3-2 victory.
The against Bengaluru will be the first away fixture of the season for the ‘Mariners’.
