What a game we had in Bengaluru! And despite the scoreline, Mohun Bagan did put up quite the fight, the defending shield champions unable to find an ideal finish despite waves of attack.

A couple of minutes later, Chhetri walks off the field, receiving a standing ovation from the Kanteerava, with the captain’s armband going to Rahul Bheke. Drinks brought to the field after Chhetri is substituted. Chhetri is replaced by Fanai while Chinglensana replaces Jovanovic.

50’: GOAL! Sunil Chhetri scores his 64th league goal to become the leading goal-scorer in ISL history! And with that, Bengaluru FC triple their lead just minutes into the second half, and now it appears their game to lose!

The referee had earlier pointed to the spot after Dippendu’s rash challenge on Mendez.

45+5’: HALFTIME AT THE KANTEERAVA! End of a pulsating first half between Bengaluru FC and Mohun Bagan. Though the Blue finds themselves ahead by two goals thanks to Edgar Mendez and Suresh Wangjam’s strikes, Mohun Bagan Super Giant have produced plenty of chances themselves The Mariners, though, aren’t able to find the finish that the home team have been able to achieve twice so far.

20’: GOAL! Bengaluru FC double their lead inside 20 minutes, and it’s Suresh Wangjam who fires the ball into the net for the Blues! Mendez turns provider this time as his cross from the right channel initially meets Sunil Chhetri’s foot, resulting in a loose ball at the centre of the Mohun Bagan penalty area.

Suresh pounces on the opportunity and beats the defenders as well as the keepers with a fiery strike.
