Bengaluru FC vs FC Goa, ISL 2024-25 semi-final Leg 1 LIVE: The semi-finals of the 2024-25 Indian Super League (ISL) season get underway on Wednesday, 2 April with Bengaluru FC hosting FC Goa in the first of those fixtures at Bengaluru’s Sree Kanteerava Stadium. Goa and Bengaluru had finished second and third respectively on the points table at the end of the regular season. While Mohun Bagan Super Giant won their second consecutive League Shield with 56 points, Goa finished runners-up with 48. Bengaluru on the other hand finished level on 38 points with NorthEast United and Jamshedpur FC, who finished fourth and fifth respectively.
The Blues, who boast the presence of legendary forward Sunil Chhetri in their ranks, had qualified for the Cup playoffs with a 5-0 thrashing of former champions Mumbai City FC, who had finished sixth with 36 points, in a one-legged knockout fixture on Saturday. Jamshedpur, on the other hand defeated NEUFC 2-0 in the other knockout tie to set up a semi-final meeting with Mohun Bagan.
The upcoming fixture will be BFC coach Gerard Zaragoza’s first appearance in an ISL semi-final.
Goa, meanwhile, have been on an unbeaten run in their last four meetings with Bengaluru, winning two and drawing as many during that period. The Blues, however, enjoy a dominant record against Goa at their home ground, winning four and drawing two in their last six meetings against The Gaurs.
