With an aim to secure their berth in the 2024 Paris Olympics, the Indian women’s team will compete in the FIH Hockey Olympic Qualifiers. Hosts India have been placed in Pool B of the women’s FIH Hockey Olympic Qualifiers along with New Zealand, Italy and the USA. The competition is scheduled to start from 13 January in Ranchi. After missing out on their first-ever Olympic medal in Tokyo in 2021, the Indian women’s hockey team would be looking to put up an improved performance in the FIH Olympic Qualifiers and seal their spot for the Paris Olympics. The event was initially supposed to be held in China but upon Hockey India’s request to FIH the change in the venue happened.
