FIFA World Cup: Can England qualify for 2nd round after Uruguay loss?

After England’s 1-2 loss to Uruguay, the equation in the Group of Death completely changes — the loss puts England at the bottom of the table but all the other teams have won a game each and Costa Rica and Uruguay are yet to face probably the best side of the group — Italy. So, can England still go through to the knockouts after the loss? First they need Italy to beat Costa Rica on Friday. Once that is solved they must beat Costa Rica next Tuesday by as many goals as possible while hoping that Italy beat Uruguay — remember, the last group games are played at the same time so there could be a lot of drama. But while mathematically England can still do it, history is against them. England are hoping that Italy win all their group games and the last time Italy won all their group games was in 1990. Also, no team has ever qualified for the World Cup after losing their first two group games (group stage was introduced in 1954).
