Lewis Hamilton is all set for his debut season with Ferrari in the Formula 1 2025 season. Ahead of the much-anticipated first race, the team’s deputy principal Jerome d’Ambrosio has shed light on how the seven-time champion is integrating into the Maranello-based outfit.
Hamilton’s move to Ferrari sent shockwaves through the F1 world when it was announced last year. While switching teams can often be a challenging transition, Ferrari’s deputy team principal has revealed that the British driver has seamlessly adapted to his new environment in Italy.

Speaking about Hamilton’s early interactions at Ferrari, Jerome d’Ambrosio emphasised that the 39-year-old’s ability to connect with people has made the transition smooth. He said that Hamilton has made an impression on his new colleagues.
“Lewis doesn’t need any help to be introduced into a team or get to know people. He is quite amazing with people, and the team already loved him after the first day,” he said.
“The areas where it’s been perhaps quite useful is already knowing his [support] team. A driver doesn’t come alone to a team; they have their own team, their own management, and people around them. I have already interacted with them in a past life,” he stated.
Hamilton has spent over a decade at Mercedes, winning six of his seven world titles with the Silver Arrows. His first title win in 2008 came with McLaren. Now, he has embarked on a mission to bring Ferrari their first drivers’ championship since Kimi Raikkonen’s triumph in 2007.
Lewis Hamilton had an inconsistent 2024 season, finishing seventh in the World Drivers’ Championship with 223 points. He managed a single race win but was frequently outperformed by his teammate George Russell. Hamilton retired from the race in Australia and had some challenging weekends where he finished outside the top five.
