England’s FA has come down hard on Liverpool striker Luis Suarez, suspending him for a total of ten games after an Independent Regulatory Commission ruled the charge of violent conduct today, the FA said in a statement. “A three-person Independent Regulatory Commission today upheld The FA’s claim that a suspension of three matches was clearly insufficient and the player will serve a further seven first-team matches in addition to the standard three,” the statement said. Suarez dug his teeth into Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic’s arm during last Sunday’s Premier League match before netting a last-gasp equalizer to clinch a 2-2 draw. He has already been fined by Liverpool for the incident and has been offered anger management counseling by England’s footballers’ union. The Liverpool forward had accepted a charge of violent conduct but had denied The FA’s claim that the standard three-match sanction was insufficient for the offence. The incident was not seen by the match officials and has therefore has been retrospectively reviewed. Suarez has until noon on Friday, 26 April, to appeal the additional seven-game ban
