EPL: Reading bid $1 million for India's Brandon Fernandes

A report on espnstar.com  says that English Premier League club Reading FC have made a $1 million bid for Indian footballer Brandon Fernandes If the deal goes through, Brandon will become the first Indian player to sign for a Premier League club. The Goan was quoted in the report as saying: “It is a great honour to have had a trial with Reading and (if a deal can be reached) I will be very happy to play for them. The 18-year-old was picked up by ASD Cape Town after impressing scouts at the Manchester United Football Skills tournament in 2009 and has been training in South Africa for the last two years. It will be ASD who will decide his future. Brandon told epsnstar.com “There are a lot of Indian supporters in the city of Leicester so if I came here (instead of Reading) I am sure I would get lots of encouragement from them.” Brandon has represented India at U-17 and U-19 levels.
