Don't have as much stamina as younger players: Brazilian legend Cafu

Mapusa (Goa): Playing just a few hours after landing in Goa, Brazilian legend Cafu admitted that he did not have as much stamina as the other younger team-mates in Goa 5s but managed to play the game in Premier Futsal on Thursday. “I am feeling good. (I was) not as good as young players (in the team) in stamina, but still manage to play the game,” said Cafu who was the cynosure of all eyes in the jam packed stadium where Goa 5s defeated Bengaluru 5s in the ongoing Premier Futsal. Getty[/caption] Cafu replaced his compatriot Ronaldino in Goa 5s team which qualified for the semifinals after defeating Bengaluru 5s 3-0 in a crucial encounter. The Brazilian player said the transition from football to futsal was different as this (Futsal) is a shorter version of the game. “You don’t get the time to think. It’s very fast paced game as compared to football,” said the 46-year-old player, who arrived in Goa yesterday. Though Cafu did not score any goal in the match against Bengaluru, his sheer presence inspired the other players who played with aggression throughout the game. Responding to a question on his opinion about Indian football players, Cafu said, “It is good as there are several Brazilian and Italian players already playing in India.” Cafu said he was happy to be associated with Futsal as the game is getting popular all over the world. The semifinals of the tournament are slated to held on Saturday while the final will take place on Sunday.
