Denmark Open Superseries Premier: When and where to watch, coverage on TV and live streaming

Badminton action returns to Europe with the Denmark Open Superseries starting on 17 October in the city of Odense. With all the top players playing in the tournament, it is bound to be an action-packed week in Denmark.

India's chances of winning yet another Superseries Premier title is very bright with the likes of the ever-dependable duo of the women's singles division, PV Sindhu and Saina Nehwal in the fray.

The rise of the Indian men's division in world badminton has been gradual but impressive. With 5 Indians—Kidambi Srikanth, B Sai Praneeth, HS Prannoy, Sameer Verma and Ajay Jayaram— in the top 20 of men's BWF ranking, it has to be one of the strongest Indian contingent to participate

All eyes will be on the home favourite Viktor Axelsen who has been in belligerent form in the past year. The World No 1 has been amassing accolades one after the other, winning the Olympic bronze medal in Rio, the India Open, World Championships in Glasgow and the Japan Open with consummate ease.

The women's world champion and Olympic bronze medallist Nozomi Okuhara will be one of the favourites in a women's division that is increasingly getting competitive with the return of World No 1 Tai Tzu Ying, the recently crowned Japan Open champion and Olympic gold medallist Carolina Marin.

While there is no Indian entry in the qualifying rounds of the men’s and women’s doubles, the mixed doubles preliminary rounds will feature 17-year-old Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and 27-year-old Ashwini Ponnappa, who have been drawn against Danes Kristoffer Knudsen and Isabella Nielsen.

Should the Indians win, they would most probably run into yet another Danish combination, Mikkel Stoffersen and Susan Ekelund. It is a none-too-difficult ask; and the talented Indian pair has a gilt-edged opportunity of barging into the main draw.
