David Beckham set to join Paris St Germain

David Beckham is on his way to France to complete the formalities of a move to Paris St Germain. According to a report in the Guardian, the former England skipper chose the Qatar-owned club ahead of 11 rival offers.

The 37-year-old is expected to be unveiled at a press conference 5 PM (Paris Time) on Thursday and will begin training with the club in the next 15 days.

Beckham was last with the MLS side LA Galaxy and he helped them win the title. Of late, he has been training with Arsenal.

Beckham, who made a record 115 outfield appearances for England, played for Manchester United between 1993 and 2003. He then shifted to Real Madrid and earned 116 caps between 2004 and 2007. Between 2007 and 2012, he was with LA Galaxy.

There were two short loan stints to Milan in 2009 and 2010.

The move to PSG will allow Beckham to be part of a Champions League contender once again.
