Crowd Verdict: Dhoni should be dropped for Perth

India’s defeat at Sydney has had a sobering effect on its fans. The innings and 68-run defeat should mean big changes at Perth. Do you drop Gautam Gambhir, VVS Laxman, Virat Kohli or even skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni? That was a question we asked on our Facebook page. Dhoni’s captaincy has let India down and his defensive approach means that India always have their back to the wall. He needs to go or get his act together very quickly. His sixth consecutive loss in an ‘away’ Test shows that he has lost the plot. The thinking behind the sweeping changes being that if the best team is doing so badly, can the youngsters do any worse? Unlikely. In fact, if nothing else, the experience might help them the next time India are on tour in Australia. For now, this tour is lost. And here’s a look at what the biggest stakeholders in the game, the people, feel about India’s chances at Perth and the changes that should be made. In the second innings, they have got out to poor balls. If Indian batsmen cannot play on pitch like Sydney then they will not be playing well in any pitch of any other ground in Australia. It is better that I stop watching test cricket.. so sick to see just an no fight from India. Adarsh Sreenivasan Lathika: Yes… i would want to drop virat and dhoni..and replace by rohit and a keeper (did we take a 2nd one) ..may be not VVS and Ghambhir.. wouldnt mind keeping aswin as perth will hv bounce… Sharikh Kader kohl: should be replaced by rohit sharma 4 sure…i don’t think any odr replacement will strengthen d team…v gotta retain dhoni nd gambhir coz dey r d best v got…nd as far as laxman is concerned u can’t leave him out ven u r playin australia. Amitabh Acharya Kohli should be replaced… N either rohit or yuvi should get a chance.. N laxman is a class.. He is fine for rest of the tests.. N dravid should look after his shot selections so as sachin n sehwag.
