Coronavirus Outbreak: Formula E schedules six races in nine days to finish season

The all-electric Formula E series will hold six races in nine days at Berlin’s former Tempelhof airport in order to finish a season interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, organisers said on Wednesday. All the races, on 5-6, 8-9 and 12-13 August, will be held without spectators. [caption id=“attachment_8259761” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] ![Representational photo. There will be mandatory coronavirus testing before arrival and then every day at the track, with movement limited and social distancing in place. The season had been due to finish with two races in London in July but the venue, the ExCeL exhibition centre, was taken over as the temporary Nightingale Hospital for COVID-19 patients. Formula E suspended the championship in March. Portugal’s Antonio Felix da Costa leads the standings for the DS Techeetah team after five races, with New Zealander Mitch Evans second for Jaguar and 11 points behind.
