Confessions of a Chelsea fan: Do we really need Wayne Rooney?

AFP[/caption] As the Manchester United vs Chelsea match closes in, there is one man who has stolen the spotlight — Wayne Rooney, want-away United striker and most wanted at Chelsea. Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has, out of respect, refrained to bid for the forward in the run-up to the match, but he has made no secret of his desire to get him on the Stamford Bridge payroll and will surely come back with a new bid after the game. We asked our Twitter followers (particularly Chelsea fans) what they thought about Chelsea’s pursuit of the 27-year-old — with Prashant Potdar , Anuj Sinha and Amar Jyoti jumping at the chance to make their voices heard. They spoke to sports reporter Pulasta Dhar over the phone on our sports podcast, which you can find below, and had varying views over their club’s chase of Wayne Rooney. While their views on the player and the transfer are different, it gives you a sneak peak into the mind of the Chelsea follower — and they all want to sign a striker!
