Result: Trinidad & Tobago beat Titans by six runs (D/L method) Toss: T&T won the toss and chose to bowl first Trinidad & Tobago: 188 for 6 from 20 overs (Lewis 70, Bravo 63) Morne Morkel started with a maiden. Marchant de Lange bowled Lendl Simmons – with the help of a lucky deflection of his pads – in the second over. Then all hell broke loose. The pair kept up the pace as the team’s 50 came up in 5.1 overs. [caption id=“attachment_1143277” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] Evin Lewis blitzed 70 from 35 balls. BCCI[/caption] Lewis reached his 50 from just 21 balls, getting there with a six and a four off Henry Davids. Bravo was content to play a more supporting role while Lewis blasted the opposing bowlers, but there was no room to hide as they brought up their 100 partnership from 9.5 overs. Lewis was eventually dismissed for 70, from 35 balls, in the 13th over, having 109 with Bravo. Bravo then took over, hitting van der Merve for three sixes to get to his half-century as T&R looked set to score 200. But late wickets slowed the charge and only 43 came off the last five overs, with 15 coming from the final over. Titans: 153 for 16 from 17 overs ( Davids 42, Simmons 2-18, Narine 2-23) Led by Henry Davids, Titans got off to a flying start. Samue Badree was taken for 22 runs in the second over, as Davids and Rudolph peppered the boundary against one of the most economical bowlers in T20 cricket. The onslaught continued as Davids hit Rampaul for a six and two fours. The Titans raced to 49 from the first five overs and it looked like T&T might regret their late over struggles. David raced to 42 from 20 balls but his onslaught was halted by a full delivery from Emrit which crashed into middle stump. Titans suffered a min-slump losing three more quick wickets to reached 88 for 4 after 11 overs. AB de Villiers and Farhaan Behardien kept their side in it with some big blows before Behardien fell in Sunil Narine’s final over, in which the bowler picked up two wickets while giving away just six runs. That turned out to be crucial as the rain came pouring down one over later and when the match was called off, Titans found they were six runs short of the Duckworth/Lewis target. Turning Point: The dismissal of Henry Davids turned the momentum T&T’s way. Man of the Match: Evin Lewis
