CLT20 as it happened: Mumbai beat Rajasthan by 33 runs to win final

[caption id=“attachment_1155881” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] ![BCCI](https://images.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/sachin-380-bcci.jpg) Will Tendulkar pip Dravid to the trophy? BCCI[/caption] Mumbai Indians beat Rajasthan Royals by 33 runs to win CLT20! Wickets! Rajasthan 169 all out Shukla c Smith b Pollard 0 (1b, 0x4, 0x6) Tambe c Smith b Pollard 0 (2b, 0x4, 0x6) Thati’s it! Mumbai Indians have won it as Pollard takes three wickets in the space of four deliveries to finish off Rajasthan! Once Dravid was gone, it looked very bleak for the Royals and Shukla and Tambe just heave the ball to Smith at deep mid-wicket for the last two wickets. Mumbai Indians have broken into an unending celebration. Wicket! Rajasthan 169-8 after 18.2 overs - Yagnik c Karthik b Pollard 6 (5b, 1x4, 0x6): Mumbai have surely won this now? You can never say with T20, but Yagnik’s attempted cut takes a nick, there’s a bit of a discussion between the umpires and it’s been given. Wicket! Rajasthan 163-7 after 17.4 overs - Dravid b Coulter-Nile 1 (2b, 0x4, 0x6): Oh you’ve got to feel sorry for Dravid for the way he got out. Goes for the slog, misses and hears the ugly crack of the ball hitting the stumps. Is it over for the Royals now? Wicket! Rajasthan 161-7 after 17 overs - Cooper st Karthik b Harbhajan Singh 4 (2b, 1x4, 0x6): Another wicket! This is the over which could win it for Mumbai… the third umpire takes his time but gets the decision right. Smart smart wicket-keeping from Karthik. Wicket! Rajasthan 155-5 after 16.4 overs - Binny b Harbhajan Singh 10 (8b, 0x4, 1x6): Mini-collapse here for Rajasthan, as Binny opts to hit big and completely misses. This is turning out to be an over which could make or break it for the chasers. Wicket! Rajasthan 155-4 after 16.1 overs - Rahane c Smith b Harbhajan Singh 65 (47b, 5x4, 2x6): Finally he’s made a mistake and he pays for it. Rahane charges down the track and looks for a six over midwicket, only finding Smith waiting gratefully. Harbhajan is delighted. Wicket! Rajasthan 137-3 after 14.3 overs - Watson c Pollard b Harbhajan Singh 8 (8b, 0x4, 1x6): Massive wicket for Mumbai as Pollard eventually has the last laugh in his battle with Watson — getting underneath his attempted six. Mumbai have their tail up now. Rajasthan 136-2 after 14 overs: A little bit of eye-to-eye between Pollard and Watson as the former doesn’t deliver the ball after running up. Watson then hammers him for six. Rahane still going strong and has brought up his fifty. Wicket! Rajasthan 117-2 after 11.5 overs - Samson c Harbhajan b Ojha 60 (33b, 4x4, 4x6): Just a few deliveries before this wicket, Samson rode a lifeline when Maxwell and Harbhajan couldn’t figure out who should catch his high shot… but this time, the latter goes for it and gets his man. Big breakthrough! Rajasthan 100-1 after nine overs: A flurry of singles before Samson decides to improvise and gets four for it. They were looking for the gap and Ojha’s attempt is not enough to stop the ball from trickling past the boundary line. That’ll be 50 for Samson too (in 23 balls). Rajasthan 80-1 after seven overs: Runs, runs, runs! This game has had no shortage of the big shots and the boundaries and Rahane and Samson have piled on the pressure in this mammoth run-chase. 17 runs have come in the last couple of overs, which is, believe us, actually good for Mumbai! It could be a lot more. Rajasthan 63-1 after five overs: Now this is one hard stat to digest — Rajasthan have more runs after five overs than MI had after 10! Samson, with three sixes and two fours has absolutely lit up this match! Incredible stuff from the youngster… absolutely incredible. Rajasthan 32-1 after three overs: So far so good for the Royals? Well if you consider the run-rate, then yes, but they’ve got to ensure that there isn’t a mighty mid-innings collapse. Rahane has already hit two top-notch fours as Samson goes for maximum and gets it. Wicket! Rajasthan 8-1 after 0.4 overs - Perera run out 8 (4b 2x4 0x6): Should have listened to Rahane there, Perera! It’s a massive mix-up in there and the opener has lost his wicket. Rajasthan Royals need 203 runs to beat Mumbai Indians Mumbai 202-6 after 20 overs: Maxwell was run-out midway through the last over but Harbhajan came on and clobbered a six, helping Mumbai to a massive total. Mumbai 190-5 after 19 overs: These two batsmen have torn apart Rajasthan’s bowlers. They’ve scored 38 runs in the last two overs – 20 in the 18th and 18 in the 19th over. Phenomenal stuff, and we’ve seen three fours and three sixes in them. Wicket! Mumbai 152-5 after 17.1 overs - Sharma c Faulkner b Shukla 33 (14b, 3x4, 2x6): He was riding a wave wasn’t he? But Sharma goes for another big shot over the on-side and this time finds the fielder. What an innings though, just what MI needed. Mumbai 139-3 after 16 overs: Mumbai have turned it on!! Pollard showing his raw power hitting Cooper and Shukla, while also using a sublime touch to work a couple of fours. Sharma is at the other end, and he’s already got three fours and two sixes under his belt. Fireworks! Wicket! Mumbai 104-3 after 13.4 overs - Rayudu b Tambe 29 (24b, 4x4, 0x6): Again! Tambe said after the last match that he loved bowling stump-to-stump and he does that and gets wickets! Rayadu down the track, misses and gone…! Mumbai 98-2 after 13 overs: 0-6-1-4-1-4. That was much needed for Mumbai, who are finally getting in the groove of things. Rayadu and Sharma both partaking in the damage. Wicket! Mumbai 77-2 after 11.3 overs - Smith b Tambe 44 (39b 5x4 1x6): Oh the sweet cracking sound of the stumps getting hit. It’s that man Tambe again and he’s got another big wicket in Smith — who was looking to hit it over midwicket. Mumbai 75-1 after 11 overs: Time to take some risk, no? Smith senses the opportunity and tries to hit one over the on-side which is just short of the fielder in the deep. However, he gets three fours in a row to ease the pressure on MI. Quality hitting that, but it was a poor over from Watson — but that takes nothing away from Smith’s batting. Mumbai 57-1 after nine overs: Brilliant brilliant bowling from Rajasthan to give away just six runs in the last couple of overs. Tambe and Cooper the bowlers who’ve given absolutely zero room to Smith and Rayadu. If it stays this tight, expect someone to suddenly take a risk. Mumbai 51-1 after seven overs: Images of Sachin biting his nails and speaking to other players dominate the big screen as Rayadu and Smith pile on the runs. Run rate of over 7/over and just a wicket lost? Mumbai will not be too worried now. Wicket! Mumbai 36-1 after 4.3 overs - Tendulkar b Watson 15 (13b, 3x4, 0x6): A four through fine-leg and then an unbelievable drive gets Tendulkar consecutive fours, before he gets carried away and attempts a rash drive. The ball cuts back and the stump goes flying. Tendulkar walks out to a standing ovation and a guard of honour. Mumbai 27-0 after four overs Not a cracking start for the batting team, and Rajasthan will probably be happy with their first few overs. The line has been tight and Smith hasn’t been given the time to free his arms. However, Tendulkar carves out a lovely four through the offside to open his boundaries account. Mumbai 8-0 after two overs: Dwayne Smith has blasted a six to get off the mark. Tendulkar more cautious in his approach, as he gets off the mark with a quick single towards third-man. A big shout from Watson for LBW but the ball was going past the leg-stump of the Little Master. It’s time for Sachin Tendulkar… and he walks out with a swagger — one last time for Mumbai Indians. Rajasthan Royals win the toss and will bowl first Mumbai Indians (from): R Sharma, A Ahmed, N Coulter-Nile, R Dhawan, Harbhajan Singh, M Johnson, K Karthik, G Maxwell, P Ojha, A Patel, K Pollard, A Rayudu, D Smith, A Tare, S Tendulkar Rajasthan Royals (from): R Dravid, S Binny, K Cooper, J Faulkner, B Hodge, V Malik, A Menaria, A Rahane, S Samson, R Shukla, S Tait, P Tambe, S Watson, D Yagnik
