Unbeaten Viswanathan Anand goes into round 12 of the Chess Candidates against Andreikin in pole position to take on Magnus Carlsen for the world championship later in the year. Peter Svidler and Levon Aronian, Dmitry Andreikin and Shakhriyar Mamedyarov, followed the suit around the first time control. Anand still leads by a full point and has two games with white pieces remaining. With a total of three games remaining, the Indian Grandmaster is favourite to win the Challenger status and take on Magnus Carlsen in the rematch.
