Ben Stokes smashed a quick-fire century to guide Rising Pune Supergiant to a five-wicket victory over Gujarat Lions on Monday.

Electing to field first after winning the toss, Pune dismissed the visitors for 161 runs in 19.5 overs. But, they initially made heavy weather of their chase before making it home with one ball to spare.

Stokes played a starring role, plundering 103 runs off just 63 balls, producing seven boundaries and six hits into the stands along the way.

RPS were 10 for three in the second over and 42 for four in the sixth, and looked in danger of losing the match. But then walked in Stokes. With two important partnerships, with Rahul Tripathi and MS Dhoni, he guided his team home.
