BCCI CEO Rahul Johri sends notice to general manager MV Sridhar demanding details of 2014 graft case

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) chief executive officer Rahul Johri sent a notice to the cricket body’s general manager (cricket operations) MV Sridhar seeking full details of a graft case in which he has been served a notice, according to a report in  Indian Express. Sridhar had made no mention or provided any details of the case in the disclosure form that the Committee of Administrators (CoA) introduced for all board employees after taking over the charge of the board in order to keep the office clean and avoid conflict of interest. AFP[/caption] In 2014, the Anti-Corruption Bureau had summoned former office-bearers of the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA), including Sridhar, alleging financial irregularities amounting to Rs 87.91 crore in the construction of the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, the furnishing of the interiors in its corporate boxes and other matters. According to the report, Sridhar had sent the disclosure form without mentioning any details of the graft case that is still ongoing. Apart from information about the case, BCCI has also asked for details of the clubs owned by Sridhar that are affiliated to the HCA to ensure there is no conflict of interest. The general manager said he will send the necessary details to the board in due course. “I have confirmed that I will share all details with regard to this case which does not indict me in person. I’m filing a discharge petition, a copy of which I will also enclose with my reply. As far as the club thing goes, I will seek clarity from my CEO. I respect the procedure being deployed and I will furnish all information as required by the management,” Sridhar told Indian Express.
