Lakshya Sen suffered another heartbreak at the Paris Olympics 2024 on Monday as he lost the bronze medal match against Malaysia’s Lee Zii Jia despite winning the first game. The 22-year-old had a 4-1 head-to-head advantage over the Malaysian going into the match, but the seventh seed scripted a turnaround midway through the match to win 13-21, 21-16, 21-11 in one hour and 11 minutes.
Lakshya’s defeat also brought an end to India’s badminton campaign at the Paris Olympics and this is the first time since 2008 that India have failed to win a medal in the sport at the Summer Games.
