England produced a dominant performance to outclass New Zealand by seven wickets in their ICC World T20 semi-final at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in New Delhi on Wednesday evening. Needing 154 runs to book their tickets for Sunday’s title clash, England overhauled the target in 17.1 overs. Opener Jason Roy played a starring role with the bat for England, plundering 78 runs off 44 balls. The 25-year-old right-hander hit 11 boundaries and a couple of sixes during his innings. England, who won the World T20 in 2010, are thus in line for their second title in the shortest format of the game. The nature of the match was one that took people on the social media by storm. The contest, which was originally billed between New Zealand’s spinners and England’s vast batting reservoir, was never expected to be this one-sided. Cricketers, fans and experts took to micro-blogging website Twitter to express their views on the match. While the cricketers, both former and current, were more or less analytical and objective in their tweets, the remaining Twitterati came up with some really innovative and funny tweets. Cricketers and experts first:
