Parul Chaudhary is having quite the time in the ongoing Asian Games in Hangzhou. Not only did she end up on the podium in the women’s 3000m steeplechase event on Monday, winning silver with compatriot Priti Lamba collecting bronze, she would go a step further the very next day. Chaudhary ended up outshining her own performance by winning gold in the women's 5000-metre final, narrowly beating Japan’s Ririka Hironaka by overtaking her in the final stretch of the race. **Asian Games 2023: List of Indian medal winners at Hangzhou** The 28-year-old distance runner from Meerut registered a timing of 15:14.75 with Hironaka (15:15.34) finishing only a second later. Kazakhstan’s Caroline Chepkoech Kipkirui crossed the finish line eight seconds later, winning bronze with a timing of 15:23.12. Ankita, the other Indian in the fray, finished fifth with a personal best timing of 15:33.03.
