The 19th edition of the Asian Games is set to start in Hangzhou, China, from 23 September to 8 October after it was postponed by one owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. A total of 61 disciplines across 40 sports will be held in 54 competition venues in Hangzhou and five co-host cities. Most of the Asian Games 2023 events will start after the opening ceremony on 23 September. However, cricket, football, volleyball and beach volleyball will start from 19 September. Notably, this event offers the opportunity to seal 74 quotas for the Paris Olympics across nine sports, namely archery, artistic swimming, boxing, breaking, hockey, modern pentathlon, sailing, tennis and water polo.
