Asia Cup: Afghanistan beats Bangladesh by 32 runs

Fatullah: Afghanistan earned its first win over a major team when it beat host Bangladesh by 32 runs in its first Asia Cup on Saturday. Playing only its fourth one-day international against a topflight side, Afghanistan bowled out Bangladesh for 222 in the 48th over after scoring 254-6 at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium. AP[/caption] Afghanistan captain Mohammad Nabi led his side with 3-44, and Hamid Hassan and Shapoor Zadran picked up two wickets apiece. Asghar Stanikzai hit an unbeaten 90 and Samiullah Shenwari made 81 for Afghanistan. Mominul Haque was the top-scorer for Bangladesh with 50, while Ziaur Rahman and Nasir Hossain made 41 runs each. AP
