After getting arrested and fined for urinating on club bouncers in Brighton last summer, Panesar has found another way to relieve his stress – flirting. The Daily Mirror reported that on the same evening England lost the fourth Ashes Test in Melbourne, Panesar spent four hours on a dating app called Tinder trying to convince a twenty-something blonde named Alison to meet him in his hotel room. The 31-year-old left-arm spinner was supposed to be reflecting on England’s fourth consecutive Test defeat Down Under but instead was busy telling Alison they needed to meet at his hotel because the team was not allowed to go out. Getty Images[/caption] “I thought it was a bit strange he would be behaving like that so soon after they had lost,” Alison told the paper. “I wanted to talk to him about cricket but he had no intentions of that. All he seemed interested in was getting me over to the hotel.” Alison had messaged Panesar because she wanted to know whether it was really him who was using the app. It appears he responded immediately and told her he loved American girls. Alison told the Mirror she was willing to meet Panesar in a public place but was not prepared to go to his room. The story is likely to hasten the end of Panesar’s England career. The drunken urinating incident led to his being sacked by his county last year but England handed him an unexpected lifeline by selecting him for the tour of Australia. At the time, Panesar said he would “repay the faith” the selectors had showed in him. Sadly, after a disappointing performance in his only Test, he chose to chase girls instead.
