Anirban Lahiri finishes tied 71st at WGC Cadillac Championship

Lahiri, current Asian Tour No.1, on Sunday had four birdies on the second, fourth, seventh and eighth holes at the Trump National Doral golf course. But bogeys on the first, 10th, 14th and 18th along with a double-bogey on the third marred his scoreline. Lahiri hit the lowest ebb when he carded a triple bogey on the par-three ninth. Holmes of United States wasted a five-stroke advantage and lost by a shot to compatriot Dustin Johnson. Holmes carded 75 while Johnson fired a three-under 69 to win his first title since returning to the tour after a six-month break to sort out unspecified personal issues. Two-time Masters champion Bubba Watson, who led by two strokes after nine holes, finished third after hitting three bogeys on the back nine. World No.1 Rory McIlroy carded a par-72 for his final round and finished ninth on one under. IANS
