While #ThankYouSachin and #SRT200 have been the dominant trending topics for the last two days on Twitter, this evening saw #AnandCarlsen give Sachin’s popularity a tough fight, at least on Twitter. PTI[/caption] While there is little doubt that Sachin’s final Test match, being played at his home ground - Wankhede - has got the country and the world watching, the two chess champions Vishwanathan Anand and Magnus Carlsen battling it out in Chennai also saw growing popularity on social media. According to GQ magazine, their preview of the match-up was more popular than their post on Victoria’s Secret models! In its fifth match now, the 2013 FIDE World Chess Championship match saw Carlsen take the lead after Anand resigned. As for the points, Carlsen leads the world champion 3-2.
