New Delhi: Indian basketball star Amjyot Singh Gill has made it to the final roster of NBA G League team Oklahoma City Blue.

The 25-year-old from Chandigarh became the first Indian national to get drafted to the final roster directly from the G League Draft.

“It is a dream come true for me and I’m blessed to be in the OKC Blue squad. I request the entire Indian basketball fraternity to keep supporting me,” said Amjyot, who was one of the four players added in the 2017 G League Draft by OKC Blue on 21 October.

The Indian had reported to the team for a week-long camp, after which he was drafted in the roster.

OKC Blue will opens their regular season on 3 November.

G League is a minor league and playing in it will give him more opportunities, opening the door for elite leagues in Europe, Australia, South America or China.
