Alistair Campbell quits as director at Zimbabwe cricket board

Harare: Former Zimbabwe captain Alistair Campbell has quit as a director at the country’s cricket board. Campbell gave his three-month notice that he was resigning as Zimbabwe Cricket’s director of international cricket and commercial affairs on Oct. 1. Getty[/caption] The 43-year-old Campbell was initially appointed managing director of ZC at the beginning of the year. His role was switched in a reshuffle after the election of a new board chairman. Campbell was instrumental in setting up Zimbabwe’s tour of Pakistan in May, the first by a test-playing nation to Pakistan in six years. He was this year accused of racist selection policies by current player Prosper Utseya, with an investigation into the allegations yet to be concluded. Campbell played 60 tests and 188 one-day internationals and was previously Zimbabwe’s head selector. AP
