After Sehwag, Dhoni and Yuvraj, Bhajji plans cricket academy

Fresh on the back of being recalled to the Test team which will face Australia, Harbhajan Singh is now planning to open a cricket academy — most probably at the Andheri Sports Complex. Bhajji was seen at the Brinhanmumbai Corporation (BMC) and the Mayor told the Indian Express that he was indeed planning to open an academy: “The trust has received a proposal from Harbhajan Singh to set up a cricket academy on the Andheri Sports Complex premises. We also plan to form a cricket team of BMC school children who can be trained in this academy.” [caption id=“attachment_544777” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] ![Harbhajan is planning to open an academy at the Andheri sports complex. AFP[/caption] The report also says that Harbhajan met Municipal Commissioner Sitaram Kunte and spoke about training BMC schoolchildren for free at the proposed academy. However, another senior civic official told the newspaper that no call will be taken on the plan until a detailed proposal is provided. The Greater Mumbai Sports and Cultural Trust runs the Andheri sports complex and has the mayor at its head. It also includes the municipal commissioner. Virender Sehwag, MS Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh all have academies of their own. CLICK HERE to read the full Indian Express report.
