    Why India-EU trade pact is ‘Mother of All Deals’

    The India-EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA), dubbed the “Mother of All Deals,” is set to significantly enhance India’s global trade and strategic position. The pact, likely to be signed on 27 February 2026, will strengthen India’s technology absorption, double exports to Europe, create employment opportunities, and foster collaborations in sectors like education, defence, AI, robotics, and aerospace. With a strong multilateral approach, India is also expected to advance the India-US interim trade deal. The agreement underscores India’s independent foreign policy, non-alignment, and growing role in the global value chain, while positioning it as a key partner for Europe, the US, and the Asia-Pacific.
